Upload your files with your Mac FTP Software or Windows FTP Software at ftp.kaltobepress.com for Digital, Offset or Letterpress Output! Login is upload@kaltobepress.com and Password is client. Or, send an attachment by email to kay@kaltobepress.com. We will check it for any potential problems and create a color proof for your review by fax, email (PDF) or in person. After your approval of our proof, we can go ahead with the printing of your project.

Send us your PDF, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Word, Publisher or Quark Xpress files for printing!

If you choose to send a PDF for printing, please save your PDF with press quality settings, including crop marks and allow for trim of any bleed area if printing is to extend to the very edges of trimmed size (no margins).

Illustrator

  1. All version up to CS4
  2. Create font Outlines
  3. When saving, include linked files
  4. Include fonts and linked files if desired fonts should be stuffed or zipped to retain their integrity
  5. Specify your PMS colors or 4-color process
  6. Allow bleed at edges (extra image area to be trimmed away) for printing off the edges

InDesign

  1. All versions up to CS4
  2. Make sure to include file name extensions on all files(.indd, .tif, .psd, .eps etc.)
  3. Include links (supporting files)
  4. Create font outlines or include fonts
  5. Photographic continuous tone images should be in CMYK or grayscale color space, not RGB
  6. Make sure to allow for bleed (extra image area to be trimmed away to reach the final size)
  7. Stuff or Zip all the files into one Stuffit or Zip file for best results

Photoshop

  1. All versions up to CS4
  2. Colorspace should be CMYK, Grayscale, Duotone or Bitmap (line art)
  3. Resolution for printing should be 250ppi (pixels per inch) or more for the print size
  4. Type should be on type layers for superior crispness rather than flattened files (pixelized type)
  5. Make sure to allow for bleed (extra image area to be trimmed away to reach the final size)

Quark Xpress

  1. Versions up to 7
  2. Include links and fonts
  3. Make sure to include file name extensions on all files(.qxd, .tif, .psd, .eps etc.)
  4. Photographic continuous tone images should be in CMYK or grayscale color space, not RGB
  5. Trap adjacent spot colors if used
  6. Make sure to allow for bleed (extra image area to be trimmed away to reach the final size)
  7. Stuff or Zip all the files into one Stuffit or Zip file for best results
